D.R. Horton’s Atlas Hillcrest is a new condo development in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego.  Split into two buildings between Fourth and Fifth Avenues and Pennsylvania Avenue, Atlas Hillcrest contains a variety of one and two bedroom layouts.  There are a total of 140 units in this development, 65 in the first building and 75 in the second.

The Atlas Hillcrest Community features:

  • Lavishly landscaped courtyards with fire pit and soothing water feature
  • Social lounge and piano bar
  • Fully equipped high-tech fitness center
  • Outdoor splash pool and spa with spacious deck
  • Barbecue area
  • Gated underground parking with electronic entry system
  • Street level retail shops on 5th Avenue

The building along Fourth and Pennsylvania is completed, with 63/65 units sold.  The two remaining units are both on the fifth (top) floors and are a bedroom, 1 bath floor plans.  They both have a balcony, hardwood floors in kitchen and living room, an in-unit washer/dryer, and walk-in closet in the master bedroom.  At approximately 725 square feet, these units are currently listed at a special rate of $339,481.  HOAs are $412/month and these units come with 1 gated parking stall in the underground garage.

With the second building along 5th Avenue nearing completion, the builder expects to be conducting previews in late 2008.  Floor plans in the 5th Avenue building will range from a 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit at approximately 728 sq. ft. to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit at approximately 1886 sq. ft.  Each unit will come with at least 1 dedicated parking stall in the underground garage.

  1. This is one of the nicest condo developments in the state. The location and design of each room is what makes it truly special.

  2. Mr Bear says:

Priced way too high. Either come down about 40% or rent them out. Rooms way too small. Be sure to check the sound between units (side by side and up and below. All wood construction, NOT concrete and steel like The Egyptian.

  3. Urban Seller says:

You may not have yet seen the new building on 5th. The homes are much larger- I mean big. Corner units with wrap around terraces, some up to 1200 sq. ft. Over 800 sq. ft 1 beds, and the twos up to 1886. You might want to take another look- It’s Hillcrest- not like DT with a ton of newer inventory. They have not yet opened the second models yet, but heard they are already 25% sold of 5th ave, and 4th ave is already sold out.
